Mattress depths

Our mattresses are made from high quality natural materials, including natural latex, horsehair and coir (coconut fibre), all wrapped in an organic cotton drill cover quilted with organic wool, available in a variety of depths.

Our horsehair and our flexicut natural latex mattresses are available in 11cm depth only, and our other mattresses are available in 3 different height options to suit different sleeping preferences and budgets.  As well as comfort levels, one other thing to consider when choosing your mattress depth, is the depth of your bed frame.  It's always worth taking a moment to consider how high your mattress will sit in your bed frame.

Standard depth

14cm depth, making them lighter and lower in price than our classic and premium options.  Gives a supportive mattress, with less resistance than deeper mattresses.  Ideal for light to average build people.

Classic depth

15cm depth.  Our most popular depth offering excellent all round support with a good balance of density and elasticity.  In our mixed fibre mattress: natural latex and coir, and natural latex and horsehair, the latex core depth increases, whilst the natural fibre layers do not.  More latex adds increased resistance, and can give a firmer feel.  Our classic depth mattress is for you if you're a co-sleeper, and for average to heavier weight people.

Premium depth

At 23cm deep, our most generous mattressses are a great choice when you're looking for a deep mattress that gives a little more height.   The extra thick latex gives a firmer support, but still with the comfort and cushioning you want whilst you sleep. This is a mattress for those that love a luxurious feel, and for heavier built people to ensure good support.

Mattress measurements

Greenfibres mattress options include both imperial and metric options, and these are based on the different UK and EU standard bed sizing, not direct translations.  Usually European beds are little longer, being 6'6" in all sizes, and UK mattresses vary in length between single and double size, compared to the king and super king sizes.  We include both options because even if you bought your bed in the UK, it may be from a European supplier or store that has based their mattresses on the European bed size.

How to measure your mattress

To be sure of the size of mattress you need, you'll need to measure the length and width of the bed frame, from the inside edges, not including the frame itself.  Place the tape measure on the inside edge of the headboard and extend it to the inside edge of the foot of the bed frame.  Measure from one side of the bed frame to the other, again, measuring from the inside edges.
